Free Morning Bike Ride in Guatapé

Three mornings a week, a group leaves from Casa de Ciclistas on the malecón and rides through Guatapé before the town wakes up. The pace is relaxed. The company is good. And the route takes you through parts of Guatapé that most visitors never see on foot.

It’s free and open to everyone. Registration is required — it takes one minute.

  • Backpackers and solo travelers looking for a low-key way to meet people
  • Families with older kids who can handle a casual morning ride
  • Anyone who wants a different perspective on the town before heading to La Piedra

If you’re unsure whether it’s right for you, ask us before you arrive — see the WhatsApp button below.

What You Might See

Guatapé in the early morning is a different place. The streets are quiet, the light is low over the reservoir, and the town is still settling into the day. On the ride you’ll move through neighborhoods, backroads, and lakeside paths that rarely appear in the usual tourist itinerary.

It’s not a guided tour and there’s no commentary — just a group of people on bikes, moving through a place worth seeing slowly.

Why Casa de Ciclistas Hosts It

Casa de Ciclistas started as a place for cyclists. The name says it — house of cyclists. The free morning ride is an extension of that: a way to share the town with visitors who want more than a photo at the top of the rock.

It’s also one of the simplest things we do. Three mornings a week, bikes, no charge. That’s it.

Breakfast or Coffee After the Ride

The ride ends back at Casa de Ciclistas. The kitchen opens at 7:30am, so by the time you’re done, breakfast is fully on.

Shakshuka, Turkish eggs, fresh sourdough, Colombian coffee, pastries, smoothies — everything made from scratch. It’s a good way to finish the morning before heading to La Piedra del Peñol or wherever the rest of the day takes you.
